Guillermina Rodríguez

Guillermina Rodríguez is a Mexican ceramic and visual artist with over 10 years of professional experience. She holds a degree in Industrial Design from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), and has furthered her artistic education through studies and experiences in ceramic sculpture, jewelry, and bronze casting in Mexico, Ecuador, and Colombia.

Her practice focuses on high-fired ceramics, exploring the relationship between clay, glazes, color, and fire. Her work draws inspiration from the colors and landscapes of the Mexican Caribbean: the sea, tropical light, sand, and the organic forms of nature.

She is involved in every stage of the process, from research and formulation to the design and production of each piece, maintaining an ongoing exploration of materials and the transformations that take place during firing. In this dialogue between matter, intention, and fire, she finds a space where the work can evolve, transform, and surprise.

Artist Statement

"My work is born from my connection to nature and from the memory of the landscapes of the Mexican Caribbean. Through ceramics, I seek to transform its colors, forms, and sensations into pieces that preserve something of that experience.

I approach the material through experimentation—from the selection and preparation of clays and glazes to the transformation that takes place inside the kiln. I am drawn to the encounter between what I envision and what the fire ultimately reveals.

Each piece is a small way of preserving the light, color, and freedom of a landscape that remains within me."
